Destination of beauty

I am back to my favourite hobby - blogging. I am sorry I was not doing it for a while - lack of time, bad Internet, lots of work - many things together... But I'm back full of new ideas and inspiration. And I just wanted to tell - I have spent my summer at the most beautiful place - Chalkidiki, Greece. And this is the first story on my new blog...

Life in Greece - is definitely not in ruins. Every summer is full of new places to discover and explore. Every summer you feel like a tourist - having your own perfect holidays, not going far from your house though.

Today I wanted to share with you one amazing day I had in August... and I hope these pictures will bring you some warmth on this October day...

The place is called Porto Koufo and it is situated on the second "leg" or "finger" of Chalkidiki peninsula - Sithonia. It is quite far from all known and popular touristic places of Chalkidiki, and even in August the beach is not so crowded. Porto Koufo - is a tiny village famous for its fresh fish and crystal clean sea water.

It is actually the deepest natural harbour in Greece. It looks like a magic lake but then you notice that there is an exit which leads to the open sea. The bay is full of caves, which is easy to guess as the crystal clean water is freezing cold. It is very refreshing at the hot time of the year, but still I believe not everybody would be comfortable with that.

The destination is not super popular,which makes it for me much more attractive. The small piece of paradise is surrounded by mountains and rocks, full of pine trees, so the air is the best you can possibly want to breathe. The best nature can offer is found here - vitamin sea, sweet air and relaxing warm sun.

It was just a day. A day I enjoyed more than many others during this summer. A day I relaxed, enjoyed observing absolutely everything around me, and enjoyed myself. It was one of those days when you feel happy just about everything.

Porto Koufo is the place to go back to. If you, by any chance pay a visit to Greece - don't forget Porto Koufo, not much talked or advertised, but not worse than any famous resort. It might seem boring to stay, but good enough to enjoy the silence and find peace with nature and yourself for a day.

And yes, to complete the perfection - seafood and your beloved one. The prices at local taverns are just a little bit higher than around, but the service and food are on a higher level. It's a sin not to go for a grilled octopus after the swim. So yamas (cheers) !
